Photography is often used to capture images in order to document and preserve subjects and events deemed important by the photographer. But what happens when the desired subject is long past its prime? Is the memory of the subject still worth preserving if it has deteriorated into an unappealing state? These are the questions this series seeks to challenge. Each subject in this series has been seemingly untouched for a lengthy, yet undeterminable period of time, and as a result has fallen victim to decay and atrophy. The specific reasons for this neglect remain unknown, and represent the imprint of a life that has either moved on or no longer exists, ultimately leaving their material possessions behind to meet the same fate. However, these photographs offer a means of intervention by giving the objects a second purpose in life by allowing them to be viewed and appreciated by a new audience.
