This series is a study on the symbology of lighthouses. The more traditional interpretation of lighthouses depicts the beam of light as a beacon that signifies home and safety, but another understanding sees the lighthouse as a means of warning the dangers and hazards that still need traversing. These two connotations make the lighthouse an interesting subject to explore, as they are both valid understandings, yet contradict each other. This series analyzes both meanings through the use of composition, framing, and color.
