ARTIST_STATEMENT::SERIES_LOG
This experimental video series is a record of recordings that have been 404 TEXT NOT FOUND. These videos signal the intersection of media death and digital rebirth, exploring the inherent noise of converting analog technology into a digital copy.
Input_Source_A (MAGAZINE::SCREEN-PRINT)
Sourced images of TVs and Monitors are presented as static, flat meta objects: a screen, scanned onto a screen, and hijacked to display rouge transmissions. These found images are digitized, forcing a new layer of moiré and interpolation artifacts into the final product. The still image and subjects within are juxtaposed to the moving video, creating a frozen reality in which the transmissions are able to find VIEWER_INPUT
Input_Source_B (VHS::ANALOG-DECAY)
The VHS footage introduces motion into the static image, but is compromised by magnetic degradation. Some footage is enhanced and routed through a dedicated glitch board, which deliberately induces signal interference. The signal is stressed until it yields an aesthetically rich, non-linear corruption, further distorting and obfuscating the transmission's intended meaning
OUTPUT_ANALYSIS: MESSAGE_DELIVERY::COMPROMISED
The final output is not high resolution. Each video is a transmission attempted, but fundamentally broken. The aesthetic mimics an electronic signal that is always in transit, but has been intercepted by its own medium. The intention is to hold the viewer in the space of NON_COMMUNICATION. This is not a condemnation for obsolete tech, but an embrace of its flaws as truth. The series utilizes the error to deliver the signal's meaning, proving that the most resonant messages are often found in the SCRAMBLE. The work seeks to display the beauty inherent in SYNTAX_FAILURE.
